Where Does Chelmsford Rank on Best Communities in MA List?
Chelmsford ranked in the bottom 30 of 100 of the state's best communities, according to this GoLocal annual survey.
GoLocalWorcester this week announced its third annual Best Communities in Massachusetts List. The list, said GoLocal, was devised by mixing stats of affordability, economic condition, education, arts and culture, and safety.
Boston came in first in this year's list. But where did Chelmsford rank?
Chelmsford came in at #71 on the list. At its inception, Chelmsford's economy was originally based around around lumber and limestone. "The local militia played a big role in American victories in the Battle of Lexington and Concord and the Battle of Bunker Hill." It cites another claim to fame as well - the Canada Dry Ginger Ale brand, which acquired Chelmsford Ginger Ale in the early 1900's, according to GoLocalWorcester.
