What Is Cavalia's Odysseo?

You've probably seen the billboards, but what the heck is it?

If you’ve driven into Boston lately on Route 93, you’ve surely seen the billboards with the white horse promoting “Cavalia’s Odysseo." They’re everywhere.

And if you’ve looked east at Assembly Square in Somerville, you’ve also seen the enormous white tent – actually, it's the world’s largest touring tent.

But the question might remain, “What is Cavalia’s Odysseo?”

Well, it’s basically a large equestrian theatrical performance. It's "Cirque du Soleil" on horseback if you will.

The show in Somerville, which opened Wednesday, Aug. 7, features more than 60 horses.

Tickets range from about $50 to $140 for adults.
