Jeff Bauman Road Race Scheduled for Saturday in Chelmsford

The race begins at 9 a.m. and benefits a non-profit called Wiggle Your Toes.

More than a year after he lost both of his legs at the Boston Marathon bombings, Jeff Bauman continues to inspire his hometown of Chelmsford.

Residents will come out on Saturday to attend the second annual Run for Bauman, which takes place on Saturday beginning at 9 a.m.

Proceeds from the 2.62 mile run to benefit an organization called Wiggle Your Toes, a non-profit that looks to empower people who have lost a limb, helping them take action and make strides to resuming the life they want, according to organizers for the Run for Bauman description.

"Along with his tireless physical therapy hours and courage, Jeff has been working closely with (Wiggle Your Toes) to get him where he is today," event planners wrote on their website. "So as a way to say thank you, the Run for Bauman team looks forward to another stellar event this summer!"

The cost for the race is $35 the day of. Parking will be available at Chelmsford High School.

Runners will begin at the high school, starting down Graniteville Road towards Westford. There will be a water stop along School Street and the course features several hills along the way.
