Flash Flood Warnings Issued for Chelmsford

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood for the Chelmsford area. The warning remains in effect until late afternoon Tuesday. 

Residents are reminded to not drive their vehicles into areas where the water covers the roadway. Instead, seek alternate routes. 

Rainfall could exceed two inches per hour across Middlesex County, according to the National Weather Service, and small streams are at severe risk for flooding. The threat for heavy rainfall will wane significantly by early evening. 

Chance of precipitation today in Chelmsford is 80 percent.
