1. Happening Wednesday: Just one Chelmsford board will be meeting midweek. The Community Preservation Committee meets in the Town Offices, Room 204, beginning at 7 p.m. On the agenda are several requests for payment, an update on the application for funding of the Chelmsford Records Preservation Project, and new business will include talk about Town Meeting Warrant Articles.

4. Reader Comment of the Day: We asked our readers what their best piece of advice is for a child heading to their first day of school, and Angela Lago Hughes weighed in on the topic. "Do not tell them that you'll miss them - because then they'll feel like they have to miss you back," Hughes posted. "Tell them to have fun and you are excited to hear all about it later!"

5. ICYMIIn case you missed it, fall sports season is officially here. The Chelmsford High School football team kicked off tryouts on Monday, and the remaining teams will do the same on Thursday. Get all of the details here.
