As co-founders of FableVision, an education media studio based in Boston, twin brothers Peter and Paul Reynolds, both Chelmsford natives, have worked together for several years. But recently, the two collaborated for the first time on publishing a new children's book titled "Going Places" (Simon & Schuster's Antheneum Books), set to be released this month.

The book, written by Paul and illustrated by Peter, marks the first time the two have been published together, and focuses on two elementary school students who participate in a school-wide go-cart building and racing contest. Moreover, "Going Places" is based on an original, animated film called "Above & Beyond," which was produced by FableVision with The Partnership for 21st Century Skills, a national coalition of education and business leaders calling for the deliberate integration of 21st century skills into education.

"We are longtime champions of creativity in teaching and learning," Paul Reynolds said in a statement. "We hope this book supports and inspires parents, educators and policy makers who understand our children deserve the curricula that fosters creativity, originality, resilience and inventiveness."

The Reynolds brothers will host a national book release party at the Blue Bunny Books and Toys in Dedham Square on Saturday, March 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The two will be on hand to sign and personalize books, and cake and refreshments will also be available for attendees. Signed and personalized copies of "Going Places" can be ordered online through FableVision Learning, which also offers a free "Going Places Activity Guide" available for download.

"Kids with the maker-mindset, who are producers of their own knowledge, will have an infinitely more productive, successful and satisfying journey ahead of them," Peter H. Reynolds said in a statement.

Peter H. Reynolds, also co-owner of the Blue Bunny Books and Toys in Dedham, is a longtime children's book author and illustrator of several books, including "The Dot," "Ish," "Sky Color," "The North Star," "The Museum" and the "Judy Moody & Stink series," among others. Paul Reynolds, CEO of FableVision, is also currently a member of the Dedham Board of Selectmen.

The brothers have another children’s book due out this fall with Charlesbridge Publishing titled "Full Steam Ahead!", the debut title in the "Sydney & Simon" early reader chapter book series, which brings STEM education to early elementary students in a playful, story-based way.
