A hero from last year's Boston Marathon bombings will be honored as Grand Marshal for the St. Patrick's Day Peace Parade in South Boston, according to NECN

Carlos Arredondo, who has been dubbed as a hero due to his response during last year's Boston Marathon bombings, will be honored as Grand Marshal along with his wife Melida, according to the report.

Arredondo was hailed for his efforts during the Boston Marathon bombings last year, as he was highlighted in an iconic photograph in which he was rushing victim, Chelmsford resident Jeff Bauman, away from the scene.

The St. Patrick Peace Parade is the alternative parade held each year in Boston, according to NECN.
