CHELMSFORD, MA – The world’s longest-running musical is coming to Lowell, MA for two nights only on April 25 & 26, 2014. Cameron Mackintosh’s legendary production of Boublil and Schönberg’s classic sweeps its audience through an epic tale of passion and destruction in 19th century France.
Regional auditions were held in December of 2013 for hundreds of individuals looking to become part of the history, nostalgia and timeless performance of the Les Mis family. We are pleased to announce that Heather Conti-Clark, Marc Macedo and Maggie Potter of Chelmsford have been cast in the production.
“Working on a renowned project such as Les Miserables evokes strong emotions from both our cast and our audience,” said Corinne Hickey, Director of Les Mis. “We are fortunate to have amassed superb talent to bring this rich tale to the heart of Lowell.”
Les Miserables is being presented by ACTORS, inc. The mission of ACTORS, inc is to provide high quality theatrical productions to the region while benefiting a non-profit partner committed to the betterment of our community at-large. For this production, Destination Imagination Regions 4 & 5 will be the benefactor of a majority of the proceeds.
The Destination Imagination program encourages teams of learners to have fun, take risks, focus and frame challenges while incorporating STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), the arts and service learning. Their participants learn patience, flexibility, persistence, ethics, respect for others and their ideas, and the collaborative problem solving process. Teams may showcase their solutions at a tournament where everyone is brought together to compete and collaborate.
