CONCORD AREA HUMANISTS

Invite you to a discussion and dialogue entitled “Differences between the secular and the religious minds” on Wednesday, April 2 at 7:00 pm at First Parish in Concord.  The special speaker will be Dr Catherine Caldwell-Harris.

Catherine will begin with an overview of how temperament, personality, cognitive styles and family environment shape us as religious vs secular/skeptical thinkers.  Participants will discuss their own history and current circumstances, and whether (or how much) their life story matches generalizations from the scientific literature.  The group will then turn to larger questions of why religious and secular minds differ, whether these are short-term artifacts of the recent cultural changes, and the implications for society and our lives.
