CCA Announces Dacey Zouzas Endowment for the Arts

The Chelmsford Center for the Arts (CCA) announces the establishment of the Dacey Zouzas Endowment for the Arts. The fund for programming was created by the Zouzas family of Chelmsford in honor of Zouzas’s recent milestone birthday and her support of the CCA since its founding in 2009.

The Dacey Zouzas Endowment for the Arts will be administered by CCA pARTners, Inc., a non-profit corporation formed to support and advance the cultural programs and activities presented by CCA.

Located at 1A North Road, the CCA is Chelmsford’s only public arts institution, but the all-volunteer organization does not receive operational or program support from the town. Kit Harbison, president of CCA pARTners, Inc., said, “The endowment fund honoring Dacey is a great beginning as we explore and develop additional funding from government sources, private foundations, and community members.”

A lifelong Chelmsford resident, Zouzas is a CCA board member and producer and host of “Dacey’s Divas,” the cable access television show honoring women who make a difference. A realtor for more than 20 years, Zouzas created the show in 2006 because she was consistently inspired by the personal and professional perseverance of the women she met.

Zouzas said she got involved with the CCA because of its breadth and scope of programming opportunities, particularly for women and children in Chelmsford and surrounding towns.

“I take a lot of pride in this organization and its mission,” Zouzas said. “I’m blessed to be able to give back, and to do my own part in making arts programming more widely available to residents of the local communities.”

According to Susan Gates, chair of the CCA, the announcement of the Dacey Zouzas Endowment for the Arts serves as a kick-off for the fall season.

“Dacey is an enthusiastic supporter of the CCA, as well as a special advocate for women in the arts and arts education for children,” Gates said. “The board and I thank Dacey for her generous spirit and for being a leader in creating this fund which will further our mission.”

The CCA presents a wide variety of programs for all ages that celebrate the visual arts, music, drama, and dance. The facility includes the CCA Gallery, three artist-in-residence studios, Chelmsford TeleMedia’s satellite editing suite, Veterans’ Memorial Auditorium, the Cabaret Café performance space, and a seminar room.
