Team Up Against Hunger with the Center School

The Center School had a “Team Up Against Hunger” assembly on Monday, January 27th. The assembly was the culmination of our partnership with the Boston Celtics, Sal's Pizza and Project Bread. We were delighted to welcome the Boston Celtics community relations team, former Celtic Dana Barros, "Lucky" the mascot, Sal Lupoli and representatives from Project Bread who organize the Walk for Hunger held every spring in Boston. Prior to the assembly, grade 4 students were treated to a basketball clinic with Dana Barros.

They worked on dribbling skills and listened to his messages about team work. During the assembly, several of the representatives thanked the students for raising awareness on the issue of hunger in Massachusetts. Dana Barros spoke to the students about effort, hard work and let them know they could be anything they wanted to be while also sharing his own personal journey on these topics.  He was truly an inspiration to all of us. Finally, we were treated to the completed grade 4 PSA on hunger which you can view in the you tube clip below.
