McCarthy School Cares

At McCarthy, we try to help out those who are in need. We show our Empathy by understanding what a person is dealing with trying to help others in any way we can.

At McCarthy, we try to help out those who are in need.  We show our Empathy by understanding what a person is dealing with trying to help others in any way we can.  Speaking of cans, did you know the McCarthy Middle School annually runs the largest school based food drive in the area.  This past fall we collected over 20,000 food items that were donated to the Salvation Army which fed hundreds of hungry people.  Led by our own Mr. Sargent, Project 300 is a school wide effort that really binds our community together.  The picture included is of a group of grade 8 students loading the truck to deliver the food to the Salvation Army.  Other such charitable causes our school embraces is the Coats for Kids drive as well as our Pennies for patients drive which is currently going on to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  We have a couple of McCarthy sayings that capture what we are all about: "No rest, McCarthy, no rest." The other is simply stated, "McCarthy Cares!"
