On Friday, June 13th from 6:00-8:00 p.m., the Harrington Elementary School in Chelmsford will hold an Open House to celebrate Miss Kristi Martin, one of our 2nd grade teachers who unexpectedly passed away this year. During this public event, the school will dedicate new items in our School Courtyard in her memory.
Although Miss Martin had been on a leave of absence this year and had not been at school, her passing was unexpected as she has planned to return to school in the spring of this year. Many children have been fortunate to have Miss Martin as a teacher as recently as last year and she has taught hundreds of students in the Chelmsford Public Schools during her tenure. For those of you who were not fortunate to know Miss Martin, she was an outstanding teacher who brought incredible creativity to her classroom as well as instilled a love of learning in all of the students she taught. As a member of our staff and 2nd grade team at Harrington for many years, Miss Martin was a respected educator but more importantly, a valued colleague and true friend.
In honor of Miss Martin, the Harrington School will have a day of celebration in honor of Miss Martin on June 13th. In addition to the evening Open House event, students in each grade level will be creating something to contribute to our courtyard which will honor the memory of Miss Martin who was a true lover of nature as well as teaching. During the evening Open House celebration, former students, colleagues, community members and friends are welcome to tour our updated courtyard and view the items created by students and the new additions to the courtyard.

At this time, the school is also collecting donations to fund the new additions to the courtyard. If you would like to make a donation/contribution in honor of Miss Martin and this project you can send it to: Harrington Elementary School, 120 Richardson Road, North Chelmsford, MA 01863 c/o Miss Martin Fund. (Checks should be payable to the Harrington PTO).
