CPS Singers Selected for the First Massachusetts Music Educators Association (MMEA) All-State Treble Chorus!

11 Elementary and Middle School Singers Selected
for the first Massachusetts Music Educators Association (MMEA)
All-State Treble Chorus!

We are pleased to announce that the Massachusetts Music Educators Association (MMEA) is piloting their very first All State Treble Chorus this year to showcase the talent of some of the state’s youngest singers.

Auditions for the Chorus were open to students in grades 4-6 whose teachers are members of MMEA, and audition recordings were submitted online. Almost 700 students auditioned for the Chorus, and fewer than 200 were accepted.

This program is offered by the MMEA as an enrichment opportunity providing a musical experience to talented young people. Participating students will have the opportunity to demonstrate their artistry and to create new friendships.

The Chelmsford Schools Fine and Performing Arts Department is proud to announce that 11 students from Chelmsford were selected to be part of the first All-State Treble Chorus.  The students will rehearse with guest conductors and then perform in a concert at the annual MMEA Conference in Boston on Saturday, March 22, 2014.
