World Class Violinist Nick Kendall visits Center Elementary School

On Wednesday, January 23rd students and staff at Center Elementary school were treated to a fabulous musical performance by world class violinist Nick Kendall.  Nick had students clapping and dancing to some of his eclectic improvised violin music. He also played two classical pieces by Bach and Tchaikovsky and asked the children to close their eyes and imagine how the music made them feel.  During the performance Nick took much time to energetically engage the children encouraging them to ask him questions and tell him how the music that he played made them feel.  Students were delighted when Nick demonstrated that he could use his violin to sound like a police siren and play the music from the movie Jaws. In addition to playing his outstanding music, Kendall had a positive message for the students that if you have a dream and work hard you can achieve that dream.

This performance was sponsored by The Center School PTO and was absolutely an event to remember.  Nick Kendall and his Group Time for 3 are currently touring nationally and internationally, and will be in Andover, MA on April, 24.  He and his group are committed to bringing the love of classical music to children.
