Rob, bless you. It takes a real humanitarian to spend so much time with someone less fortunate, not Read Moreendowed with full mental faculties. Bush Derangement Syndrome (BDS) still strikes the unwary without warning, over five years after the man left office.

And good luck with your balanced home budget including your outstanding mortgage. I guess youRead Moremisse d class when the finance professor went over long term debt. According to your twisted face- saving logic , your household budget is unbalanced since you BORROWED and you don't even realize it. At least I got to school you on MA Constitution requiring a balanced budget ( conservatives hate to hear that and block it out , devise some made-up junk accounting to avoid accounting reality ) , and brought GAAP standards to your attention, obviously 2 missing components to your formal education. BTW you brought up Obama , not me. Tara doesn't read well, poor thing. Deficits have gone down under Obama resulting in lesser increases in the national debt. You should be happy but because it took place under Obama, another artery block on your part.

As a parent whose second child just graduated from CHS at the Tsongas, I didn't mind that it wasRead Morehel d at Tsongas. We had two elderly grandparents with us, and were able to sit comfortably in the handicapped section. The big video board made it easy to see facial expressions and closeups of key moments. We were lucky to have a gorgeous day that day too, but it's not always that way. My daughter's graduation was held at the high school stadium. It was planned on a Saturday, and was rained out. The graduation took place on Sunday, during the time we had planned for her party. It was pretty chaotic. As for the "why" Principal Caliri sent an email to parents a few months ago indicating that the reasons for Tsongas had to do with planning for bad weather, and with the rainy spring we've had, it made sense to me. I wouldn't be surprised if they also didn't want chairs on the turf field, but I have never heard that to be a problem with turf fields. I do wonder what it cost to rent the Tsongas and who paid that bill.

As to cost, I do not have dollar figures, but my understanding is the costs are similar. Perhaps aRead Morep erson from school business dept can chime in. Having graduation at high school is not free. Chairs and staging needs to be rented. Police details need to be paid.

Interesting how some question the cost of a once a year graduation ceremony , and would never think Read Moreto inquire about the heat, air conditioning and electric bills at the Senior Center.

Christine ... I am unable to attend evening meetings but want to follow this. As the parent of aRead More49 -yr.-old developmentally disabled son I have spent almost the entire 49 years in advocacy and I know well that an IEP is a legal document and if it stipulates transportation, talk of not providing it is a matter of breaking the law. You (and others) go girl ... don't stand for this! Keep us posted.

How about a nice 500 Unit 40B, out of the neighborhood, with stepped up downtown public transportation and a taxi stand, liquor store right around the corner, tat parlor, plenty of parking.

Not sure who the snobs are C-Man ... what's wrong with hoping for some quality establishments inRead Morethi s town that is becoming over-run with nail salons, gyms/sports places, and whatever mish-mash that will pay the price to rent the space and, when unsuccessful, leave a hole in the wall. I'm with Baily, totally disappointed but, know what? totally expected.
