It is with great sadness that I pass on the news that our good friend and fellow Town Meeting Representative Walter Cleven passed away this week. Walter had been a very active public advocate for many years and he was involved in many of our local events and activities. Walter, and his loving wife Carol Cleven, were both selected as Chelmsford Citizens of the Year a few years ago. He will be greatly missed.
There will not be a wake, according to the information I have just received. There will be a visitation gathering at the Blake Funeral Home in Chelmsford next Wednesday, September 12, at noon, with a short memorial service right after at 1 p.m.
My thoughts and prayers are with the friends and family of Walter Cleven at this very sad time.

Carmen ... I did not have the pleasure of knowing Walter but I did know Carol. I expect he was an exceptional individual if for no other reason than for choosing Carol, a very lovely person. My thoughts are with any remaining family and everyone who was connected with him, and with him as he travels through time.
