What could be better that an eerie parade of illuminated jack-o-lanterns on the water to help kick off Halloween!!!
Join the Chelmsford Open Space Stewardship and the Hart Pond Association for the Third Annual Pumpkin Armada at Heart Pond in Chelmsford, located on Pond Street off Route 27 (take a right at Landry's just beyond Kate's Corner.) The event is FREE!!!
Bring a 6 - 8" carved pumpkin to Heart Pond beginning at 5 p.m. (no limit on the number your family brings.) We will attach it to a special float, add a candle, light it and set it in the pond. Once all the jack-o-lanterns are in the water by sundown at 6 p.m., it will be a beautiful - maybe creepy - sight! BOO!
Participants are encouraged to wear costumes and treats will be provided to little goblins and princesses. In addition, there will be a Girl Scout bake sale to tide everyone over during the event with special goodies!
Volunteers should contact Joanne Stanway at jstanway@comcast.net!

Thanks, Chelmsford Open Space Stewards. What a wonderful event. My granddaughters and I enjoyed it very much. We need to have a fund raiser, though, to buy the guys nonleaking waders so that they can launch the pumpkin floats without freezing their toes. Thanks to the Girl Scouts also. Fun time.
