My name is Bill Dalton. I served on the Board of Selectman for 15 years. I was considered a no nonsense guy by many people in the community; I did my homework on all the issues and voted on what I felt was in the best interest in the town.
Having said that, I’ve known Pat Maloney for more than 20 years. I can remember the first time I spoke to him was at the main entrance at the town hall. He told me that he wanted to help the community in any way possible. He has been true to that by serving on and chairing multiple committees, bringing projects in on time and on budget. I’ve been on a couple of committees with Pat and found that his experience in the construction business was not only beneficial, but gave the entire committee a different perspective than we would have had otherwise. His work ethic and attention to detail are second to none. And, even when we found ourselves with opposing views, we always found common ground and a positive solution with the best interest of the town in mind.
Because of my tenure on the Board of Selectman, I know firsthand the time, energy, dedication, and attention to detail necessary to be effective for Chelmsford. Having worked with Pat on many occasions, I know he possesses the drive, passion, and commitment necessary to serve the town. Pat is not afraid to take a stand for what is right. His decisions will be made based on facts and not on political pressure. For those reasons, I intend to support Pat to help him get elected to the Board of Selectman because I feel that he will be a tremendous asset, not only to the Board, but also to our town.
Please consider giving one of your two votes to Pat Maloney on April 2nd. He is #4 on the Ballot.

I didn't listen to you then and I refuse to now. I will not vote for Pat. He is a nice guy, but is not well informed on many issues.

Tyler, you are not trying to make up your mind, you are a Chelmsford insider and are being disingenuous.
There is a small group of people in town, around 150, maybe 200, who support others from within "the group" no matter what. If you like the direction that the town has headed over the last few years (I.e. vastly increased debt, lower quality of schools, more traffic, less businesses, etc) please vote for Pat. He is unarguably a vote for the status quo.
Like it or not, I think we all know the only candidate running who really plans to subvert the current path the town is on. Whether you like the path that Chelmsford is on or not, who you should vote for is an easy choice.

Wow Adam...you make it sound like he was demanding you listen to him. This is a forum where people can write in letters of support for their candidate and express their reasoning for their support.
Nothing irks me more than someone who has a nasty or hostile response to a letter of opinion.
You are entitled to have your opinion and you are entitled to express it, just as Bill is - but seriously, have some respect.

And again, another post from 'John Doe'
Who's being disingenuous here?
I don't know Tyler....but I hardly think that it's appropriate for you to be so judgmental. Have some class - and guts....post WHO you are and be respectful of those who have posted with their REAL names.
I am SO tired of people hiding behind anonymity.
