Chelmsford Hockey Players to "Paint the Rink Pink" This Weekend

Local hockey players will “Paint the Rink Pink” to show their support for breast cancer awareness this weekend at the second-annual charity hockey game Saturday against the Lake George Fighting Spirit Saturday, Oct. 20 at 3:30 p.m. at Skate 3 in Tyngsboro.

The New England Stars play in the Northern States Junior Hockey League and include brothers Joe and Jake Sortarelli and Kyle Emmonds of Chelmsford.

The event will feature a ceremonial puck drop, drawings, and more. All proceeds will go to Dana Farber for cancer research.

“Cancer has touched my life so it will be great to play for such a great cause,” said New England Stars defenseman Cameron Webster, of Boxborough.

Tickets can be purchased at the door for $5 each. The Stars are 4-6 heading into this weekend’s series against the Lake George Fighting Spirit. Last year the event raised more than $6,000.
