Warren Sworn Into Senate, Says She'll Work With 'Anyone Who Will Fight for America's Families'

In an interview with Fox 25 news after her Thursday morning swearing-in ceremony, Warren told reporters she'd "work her tail off" in Washington.

Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren, who was sworn in to office on Thursday, told reporters she plans to "work her tail off" and will work with "anyone who will fight for America's families" in Washington D.C.

"I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as your Senator, and I'll never stop fighting for you," she said via Twitter on Thursday morning after she sworn in by Vice President Joe Biden in Washington D.C.

Warren told reporters she was "delighted" by her committee assignments.

"I'm going to be on the Banking Committee which is something I really wanted to do," Warren told Fox25, "And I'm going to be on the HELP Committee which means we deal with health, education, labor, pensions…really the economics of working families."

Warren said she was "really disappointed" by the fiscal cliff negotiations.

"Our spending should reflect our values," she said in the interview with Fox25. "The idea that there should be cuts in benefits for seniors and social security in order to fund more tax breaks for billionares and Fortune 500 companies, that's a value judgment, that's not just an economic judgment."

There she goes again ...peat, peat and repeat about taxing the few billionares in this nation which will never in a million years defray the enormous debt we find ourselves in. Come up with a better line, Lizzy. How about cutting a few congressional perks?

A few Congressional perks will do nothing either. Senator Warren's (MA-D) statement if one reads closely speaks to tax BREAKS which include both tax rates and tax deductions , credits, allowances, etc. Although not a complete solution a move in the right direction. She never said that was her complete solution , not did any Democrat . Cut corporate perks before SS. Assuming otherwise is inaccurate or intentionally misleading. Too bad the politics has to start early. Elizabeth Warren won by close to 6 points and I am looking forward to her being in there for six years , especially as a member of the Banking Committee. The people have spoken ; the election is over. Warren won, not the other guy, although one would not know that in this neck of the woods.
Wishing you the best of success, Elizabeth, although the Republicans will still try to stall the country for the next 4 years like they did the last four years

Tyler,
First of all, it would certainly not hurt. The increase in taxes paid by the top earners will not offset the money being spent. I know it is not easy to hear, but the issue is not revenue, it is spending. Also, when the economy slows, tax revenues decrease as well. As far as corporate perks, an easy target, but if companies make less money they lay off employees and their stock price suffers. You may not think you are affecting by the market, but take a look at your retirement and college funds if you have one and then tell me, you hope the market does not do well.

Also, more to the point, she won, good for her, however did we just give up the right to disagree, or have another opinion. If we do not support everything the dems propose, we are stalling the country. If it was up to you Tyler, why have elections at all. We can just appoint Obama for life, dissolve the Congress and just rubber stamp everything.

It always amazes me that people who want to argue that others are obstructing or stalling the country, have little use for the concept that sometimes there is really a basis for honest disagreement and another point of view.

EW is a fraud and will be exposed as time goes by, I am waiting for the first time she actually has an independent thought.

Well said ... but I'm afraid your message to Tyler falls on his deaf ear.
