It's school vacation week, and if you're home with the kids, it may not feel like a vacation for you, too. Here are some things you can do in town to keep the kids occupied, and have a little fun yourself.
1. Ice skating at Chelmsford Forum. Public skating is from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. all week long. It's $5 admission and $4 to rent skates.
2. Take a nature walk. Since it's been so mild, take a walk with your family at any of Chelmsford's Open Space sites, like Thanksgiving Forest or Deep Brook. Maps can be found here.
3. Fun at the library. The library has a long list of events going on this week, including today's Bollywood Dance at the Library, Good Food with Liz, Ages 6+, Cooking Locally with Liz at the Library, Ancient New England: Science with Pete Money for ages 6+, and Pizza and a Movie.
4. Listen to some local tunes. OGD Jazz Trio will be performing Friday night at the Java Room and as always, the coffee shop will have their Every Saturday Morning Jazz brunch/coffee with Harvey Diamond. There will also be Live Entertainment at the Cafe Madrid.
5. Lowell Kids Week. Lowell Kids Week 2012 is going on all this week with tons of activities including movies, crafts, education programs, ice skating, swimming and more.
