TELL US: Are You Getting Your Money's Worth in Local Services?

Are you getting what you pay for, or have recent developments changed your outlook on the town's expenses?

Following reports from the Lowell Sun on unexpected tax hikes and climbing salaries among municipal employees compared to just last year, it begs the question whether residents are getting value on their dollar for what they give and get from the town.

Today, we want to ask you all that question: does how does Chelmsford rate when it comes to getting the most our of your taxes? How do you think things will look in future years? And are there other particular towns Chelmsford should emulate or avoid copying?

Tell us your thoughts in the comments.

Tax payers are like a hamster on a treadmill. Due to commitments in long run benefits and medical care made in good times, especially for retired town workers, at best we will run faster to stay the same. This is a result of poor planning, poor budgeting and naive belief investment returns would be at high rates ad infinitum.
I don't expect anything to get better and at best hope they stay the same.
Chelmsford is not unique in this.
