Stop and Shop Opens for Business
Former Bruin Mark Recchi was on hand at the grand opening celebration last night.
Stop and Shop on Chelmsford Street hosted a grand opening and ribbon cutting party last night to celebrate the new store opening for business starting at 7 a.m. today.
Former Bruin Mark Recchi was on hand, taking photos with fans and signing autographs at the event.
The new store features a cafe with free wireless internet, a nutritionist who will organize classes and store tours, and a "Tree House" babysitting service for parents to use from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
Stop and Shop also gave $1,000 checks to the Merrimack Valley Food Bank, Chelmsford Food Pantry and Chelmsford High School Music Program.

I went; I was impressed with the deals because of the grand opening. However, it is obvious that they were trying to push some old product as another customer realized a package of celery hearts was expiring in 2 days (usually it's 2 weeks) and I realized the bottle of juice I bought was past dated by a day (not too much of a deal as everyone really drank it and I only noticed when it was on my table). Also, I was impressed with them giving out $10 gift cards at the exit for buying S&S brand products. I usually shop Hannaford, Trader Joe's, and Sam's and noticed that although the pricing on some products came down vs the old Stop and Shop, the coupons was what it made it a deal as well as the gift card I got for next time.

My family members like Market Basket, Trader Joes and just have a bad taste from past experience with S&S, I do not enjoy having to carry coupons and/or the savings cards around to benefit sales. I once gave my card to the person in front of me so they could get a sale price (they forgot their card)... anyway, bottom line, we like daily good prices with no hitches.
PS: BTW, just a curiosity....and due to an observation of mine, it appears as tho certain persons comment compliments directed to the CP but vague on content in general on just about every post on the CP website ... ... makes me wonder, are they getting their face out their ie. planning to run in politics, or do they own stock in the Patch???? Hmmmm veerrrryyyy interesting!!???.
