Show of Hope Benefit Concert is Tonight

Air Traffic Controller, Liz Longley and Chelmsfordian Stefani Bush perform at the Show of Hope tonight in Lowell.

Chelmsford resident Stefani Bush knows about the power of music and how it can touch peoples' lives.

She along with Liz Longley and Air Traffic Controller will come together to perform at the Show of Hope to support the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation tonight at 7 p.m. at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium.

“I have always wanted to do a large scale music benefit for Mitochondrial Disease.  I think music is healing and powerful, and what better way to reach folks about something so important to me than by doing it through music,” said Bush.

Bush suffers fromand is active in raising awareness of the disease. Much of her inspiration for her music comes from the many hurdles she’s had to endure and the hope that she continues to have and wants to share with others. She and a friend who also suffers from the disease, , worked together to create the Show of Hope.

“I get my musical inspiration from my interactions with people-- many of them are fighting some sort of battle, and they are incredible warriors of Hope who continuously inspire me and teach me things about myself, my life, and the world around me,” said Bush.

Bush’s debut album, “Hope Rising: The Journey” tells stories of overcoming obstacles and finding hope and comfort. The folk singer/songwriter is already at work on her second album.

“Music means the world to me.  It is my release. It is the part of my soul that words cannot express,” said Bush.

The Show of Hope will be full of surprises including raffles and many special touches to make the night as memorable as possible. The organizers and bands are hoping that their hard work over the past several months will please their audience on Friday night.

“It's all about showing support and showing hope-- it's about supporting people within your community and coming together to do something really amazing in the face of something that is quite devastating,” said Bush.

Each artist will perform a 45 minute set. Tickets are available for purchase in advance or at the door. More information about the show can be found at www.showofhope.org.

“We hope people leave the show that night thinking they had the time of their life, that the music was amazing, that they had so much fun they'll be coming back next year,” said Bush. “And not only will they show their hope, they'll share their hope with others.”
