Selectmen's Race Now Up to Five Candidates

It looks like it will be a crowded field in Chelmsford's April 2 Town Election.

The race for Matt Hanson's seat on the Board of Selectmen is now at five candidates thanks to the addition of Permanent Building Committee member Patrick Maloney, who pulled papers this morning in an alert issued by the In-Town Report Facebook Page.

Maloney joins Hanson, Robert Joyce, Louis Marino and Roland Van Liew.

Currently, none of the candidates in the Selectmen's race has returned the 50 signatures from registered voters needed to be on the ballot, or in any other race with the exception of Jeff Apostolakes, who is running for the Planning Board.

More information on the current slate of candidates and how to run is available on the Town Clerk's page on the town website.

If anyone else is interested in running, the last day to pull nomination papers is Friday, February 8th at 5PM. Two seats are currently up this year on the Board of Selectmen, School Committee and Planning Board.

Thanks Matthew,

The other seat is currently held by Chairman Jon Kurland, who we've been told is unlikely to run again this year. I apologize for any confusion.

Also, an error on my part, David Braslau has also returned nomination papers for Library Trustee.
