On Dec. 20, one Chelmsford Patch reader asked us why the Department of Public Works had several dump trucks heading southbound on North Road, and had apparently been doing this for several days.

We checked with Town Hall, and apparently these trucks were heading to the new salt shed on Alpha Road (pictured), near the new stoplights on Billerica Road.
