North Reading Police Arrest Recent Alleged Chelmsford Store Robber

Police allege that Peter Dolan twice robbed the Tedeschi's in North Reading while armed with a knife in addition to his recent attempted robbery in Chelmsford.

Police have arrested a 29-year-old Billerica man in charges stemming from an attempted robbery at a convenience store in Chelmsford.

Peter Dolan also faces charges connected with two recent alleged armed robberies at Tedeschi's Convenience Store in North Reading according to a press release from the North Reading Police Department.

North Reading Police Detectives along with Chelmsford Police Detectives arrested Dolan on Christmas Eve without incident.

After his arrest, Dolan was held at Chelmsford Police Headquarters on Christmas Day and arraigned on the Chelmsford charges on Wednesday, Dec. 26, according to the press release. A judge ordered Dolan held on $2,000 cash bail.

The North Reading armed robberies occurred on November 25, 2012 and December 15, 2012. In both robberies, the robber wore a mask and displayed a knife.

"The investigation focused on the similarities in the two North Reading crimes as well as the attempted robbery in Chelmsford," the North Reading Police press release said. "Based on these similarities and 'good old fashioned police work,' the suspect was identified and subsequently located in Chelmsford not far from his home in Billerica."

The date for arraignment in the two North Reading robberies has not been set.

The details contained in the criminal complaints are allegations. The defendant is presumed to be innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
