LETTER TO THE EDITOR: George Dixon has Passion, Honesty

A letter to the editor from Susan Graves.

To the editor:

During the October storm we had a tree fall on our roof and through our window causing significant damage.  We spent the next several days on the phone with the insurance company and trying to get the tree off our roof but everybody was too busy.  Out of nowhere I received a phone call from George Dixon who said he heard we had storm damage and could he do anything to help (I still don’t know how he heard).  I jokingly said “Can you get a tree off a roof?” Within an hour someone was at our door, determined what was needed and 2 days later the tree was removed.

Mr. Dixon had heard that a citizen of Chelmsford was in need and he was there to help and assist us in obtaining the needed service.  That is what is needed in a Selectman, care and compassion for every person in town and action.

Mr. Dixon has also shown as a Selectman that he listens to everyone and gathers all the necessary information.  I watch all the Selectmen Meetings and George always comes prepared.  His decisions are made with thoughtful consideration of all the facts and always in the best interest of Chelmsford and its residents.

Mr. Dixon works tirelessly for our town providing community service in many areas.  He passionately contributes to making Chelmsford the best place possible for all who live here.

It’s George’s passion, compassion, honesty and caring that I want in my Selectman and why I want to see George continue in his leadership role for Chelmsford.  I will be voting for George Dixon for Selectman on April 3rd and I ask you to join me.
