Speaking of "the other Chelmsford," a local told me I've been mispronouncing Chelmsford by actually putting an L in there. I wonder if the other one uses their L?

The other one spells it with an L, but I can't tell you how they pronounce it. I would assume it's the same. It'd be interesting to reach out to some folks from the Chelmsfords in Canada and the UK, the British one is about the size of Providence, Rhode Island, I think the Canadian ones are Carlisle-sized, but not sure on that. All I know is that they're small.

The "non-boston" accent way to pronounce seems to be "chelmsfird".

Boston accent would likely drop the L, and if feeling particularly classy, contract the "ford" into "chemsfid".

I had forgotten that I have several English friends and British ex-pats, so I asked on my social media sites. The other Chelmsford pronounces the L, and also the complete "ford" rather than "fid" or other sound that isn't an O. I also found out that a mythical town of Chelm is a traditional location for Jewish humor about foolish people.
