Just a suggestion—keep the market open till 7, or shift the hours to 3-7? I don't get home from work until 6. My husband will go over, but it would be nice if I could go too. I'm sure there are others who work who would love to go.

What is the definition of a farmer's market? Home auditing and yoga? Seems a little off base.

I have to agree with Paul on this one. I'm a big fan in truth in advertising, and "yoga" and "home auditing" both sound like things no one should really do and is being forced down our throat by the BOS. I remember when I was a young boy, I used to go to the empty field where 9 North now stands and visit a REAL farmers market. Local farmers used to sell their children to the highest bidder in order limit traffic in the center. Now look at the "farmers market" now. Wine and some guy playing songs on his guitar that I won't like, so neither should anyone else!
This town needs new farmers markets!

Paul; I agree about the yoga, but the home audit is a service and this is a "market", although it would probably best be served as a facebook informational page.
John; Wow, are you for real? How is this being forced down your throat? I went to the farmers market, visiting the vendors that I was interested in and left. I could here the music in the background, which was actually very nice. No one forced anything down my throat, or approached me to purchase or participate in a product or service. About 9 North Road, there may have been a farm there years ago, but it is no longer and you need to move on with that one. I remember years ago when we first moved into Chelmsford there was a farmers market/stand up in Drumhill next to a very large open field now know as the "Drumhill Plaza". Times change, things change, it's a fact of life. If you are not interested in the farmers market in Chelmsford then DON'T GO, but don't stand there and bash the BOS and all the other vendors/participants of this great opportunity to bring us wonderful food and entertainment.

Maria, of course I'm for real. I remember when the farmers market was a Farmers Market and those kids were put to work paving the parking lot that eventually housed Drumhill Plaza. Sure, they lost a finger or two in the machinery, but we didn't have any backroom deals forcing some sort of "child labor" laws then.
Now, all we have is yoga (probably not even a good flavor, like vanilla, probably some sort of mix ins, WHICH I DON'T LIKE AND NEITHER SHOULD YOU) and some burnt out hippie playing old Kingston Trio songs on his guitar. I'm glad Charlie was stuck on the MTA! Served him right for not paying his fair share!

Maria,
John is trying to be funny and at first it was, but now it has worn thin. He postes a similar comment on just about every topic on this page. I would like to see the hours either pushed back or extended.

Sorry Krista. jtalexander, I do agree maybe start it at 3:00 and end it at 7:00. I know that some people on facebook were stating that it's hard for them to get to the market before it closes at 6:00 because they work until 5:00. Maybe that's something we need to discuss with the powers that be and the merchants. I will check into it.
