Elizabeth Warren Reportedly Chosen For Seat On Key Senate Banking Committee

Incoming Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren will take office in January.

Massachusetts Senator-elect Elizabeth Warren has been chosen for a seat on the Senate's Banking Committee, according to the Huffington Post, which cited several sources.

Warren, a Democrat who helped create the federal government's Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, defeated incumbent Republican Senator Scott Brown in the November election. Prior to being elected, Warren worked as a consumer advocated and was considered to become the head of the CFPB.

She's asking her Supporters to ante up, because her campaign overspent $400,000.00. That's probably why she's going on this statewide tour to "thank" her supporters with her hands out! Great person to manage a checkbook....just ask for more $$$ translate taxes paid by the wage earners. It's a Great Country....hah.

There can be nothing said... you can only just shake your head trying to understand how someone so unqualified can get so far ahead.

When you vote for a Democrat yot get a hand out for more and more. THE TAKERS are on both sides now. THE NEWEST TAKER IS ON THE SENATE BANKING COMMITTEE!!!!!! Lack of accountability and sound judgement prevails in another choice of an appointment........more inefficient government..but thats what the takers voted for.....

Elizabeth Warren will make a great US Senator, a great addition to the Banking Committee, and a protector of consumer rights. I read all the ignorance, sarcasm, lies, negative insulting talk from: jojo, Muriel McGrann ( Republican Town Committee Treasurer) , Irene, An Lai, and it just confirms why Brown , the favorite of Wall Street, investment bankers, David Koch, Bloomberg, Fidelity Investments , Mass Mutual , lost. Resounding loss I might add- 54% to 46%. Elizabeth did not have the big banker money like lame duck Brown did.
Congratulations Elizabeth!

Warren's only abilitiy to win was she had a "D" after her name. Ignorance? sarcasm? only in your opinion Tyler.

Tyler,
We will have to wait and see what kind of job she does. I am unwilling to annoint her as a great Senator based upon your opinions. People get to Washington and change all the time, and by the way, if you think she did not have big money behind her as well, think again. This state elected Tierney and an unqualified Kennedy. I am convinced that a inflatable doll playing a recorded message could get elected as long as it was labled a Democrat.

Ron: it's the TYPE of big money received. warren got 60,000 in-stae contributors, large donations from Harvard Univ., Stanford, Google, Hollywood types ( as if they are looking for favors); Brown got it from David Kock (oil interests), Fidelity Investments, Bloomberg assembled all the investment houses in NYC for a Brown fundraiser. So I "thought again".
As for the "D", there are 51 % unenrolled in MA ( hardly a "D" majority). feel the same way when Brown got elected in the special election? diminishes your argument. I will agree that voting "D" in MA simply means that most here adhere to their beliefs, social agenda and ideology. Nothing wrong with that.

No,

The facts are clear. how many Republicans get elected. I guess you support felons and drunks as well. As far as beating Coakley, she ran a horrible campaign, because she figured the election was in the bag. In state money, Stanford, Google Hollywood, when is that in state. My argument is not diminshed just because you do not agree. My point, let's see how she does before calling her great. I also stand by my comment about how this state votes, put a D behind the name and they win.

Ron" your comment:" I guess you support felons and drunks". what kind of idiotic remark is that? You can stand by anything you want. Says nothing. Massachusetts is a blue state . I see nothing wrong with that. So what. Most of the Southern States , Texas included and most of the Western States are Red. Put an "R" next to the name and they win. Both candidates received outside money- Brown got Bloomberg and Koch. Last election against Coakley, Brown got plenty of outside money. See the hidden tape of Brown pleading for money from David Kock at the San Antonio Country Club, Brown traveling to Texas to ask for cash? sure enough Brown voted against repealing oil subsidies. Surely you are not suggesting one is getting it and the other is not. In fact, all elections in the country get money from everywhere. What's your point?

tyler, would be better not to include "Idiotic" in trying to state your case. You loose credibility when you revert to insults.

Irene: your comment on the remark:" I guess you support felons and drunks". does that diminish anyone's credibility?

Tyler,

Edward Kenndy was a drunk who killed a woman, Tierney is either dumb or a crook.
Barney Frank's boyfriend ran a brothel out of his house. Three speakers of the state house of the house in a row wer indicted and two served time. Do you want me to go on. I am not arguing that Mass is not a blue state, it is and for that reason the bar is not too high when people vote for their favorite Dem.
As far as fund raising goes, they all beg. Tyler, I stand by my comments and I will again say, why not wait to see how EW does before we annoint her as great.
