Elderly Man Hit By Car Near Sunoco on Christmas Eve

The following are excerpts from the Chelmsford Fire Department log for the week of Dec. 22 to 28.

Dec. 23, 9:12 p.m. - A 25-year-old driver from Lowell was involved in a motor vehicle accident at the corner of Sprague Avenue and Gorham Street.

Dec. 23, 11:22 p.m. - One resident on Billerica Road called the Fire Department with a complaint about smoke coming from a neighbor's property.

Dec. 24, 11:26 a.m. - A motorist was locked out of their car and required assistance in the parking lot of Sal's Pizza.

Dec. 24, 4:53 p.m. - A 67-year-old Chelmsford resident sustained injuries after being hit by a car near the Sunoco on Chelmsford Street.

The operator of the vehicle was a 44-year-old from Lowell.

I am so sorry for the "elderly" man that was hurt on the 24th, and hope he is doing better. But, please refrain from calling a 67 year old "elderly"....thanks. I am 67 and feel far from elderly. My 94 year old mother is elderly not those of us who are in our 60's!!
