Dunkin’ Donuts Denied 'Best Coffee' Slogan

The eatery wanted to trademark the phrase “Best Coffee in America.” The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office said no. Do you agree with Dunkin’ or is there better coffee to be had right here in Chelmsford?

Drive around Chelmsford and it is evident there are plenty of places to get a hot cup of Joe. But who has the best?

Dunkin’ Donuts tried to stake the claim that its brew was the finest in America. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, however, just didn’t agree, according to The Boston Globe.

“Anyone at all can claim that their coffee is the ‘Best Coffee in America,’ ” trademark attorney Zick Rubin is quoted by the Globe as saying. “No one takes such a claim literally, and no one company can monopolize the phrase.”

What do you think? Is the best java in Chelmsford to be found between Hannaford and Drum Hill Road? Or is it elsewhere?

Actually, I like McDonald's coffee better. And it's cheaper.

Me too ... I think DD's coffee is weak and really lacks punch.

If I'm buying donuts and coffee I get my donuts there then go across the street to Cumby's for coffee. Their iced coffee is really good and far cheaper than dunkins. I also like making it myself because DD employees tend to look at you like you have two heads when you order black iced coffee and sometimes even when you order hot coffee black.

I enjoy McDonald's iced black coffee. For a treat, I would get my coffee at Java Room.
