Chelmsford's Newest Firefighters Graduate From State Academy

They joined a class of 68 new firefighters from 40 departments across the state.

 

Four new firefighters have joined the Chelmsford Fire Department after graduating the 198th class of the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy's sixty-day Recruit Firefighting Program recently at the Department of Fire Services offices in Stow.

David Houle, Andrew Micu, Gregory Sparks and Joshua Turner will join the force here in Chelmsford along with new first responders in Auburn, Bedford, Bellingham, Braintree, Concord, Danvers, Dracut, East Longmeadow, Framingham, Franklin, Gardner, Gloucester, Greenfield, Holyoke, Hopedale, Leominster, Lexington, Longmeadow, Lowell, Lynn, Mansfield, Mashpee, Melrose, Middleborough, Nahant, North Andover, Northampton, Norton, Orleans, Plainville, Salem, Somerville, Stoughton, Wayland, Westfield, Westford, Winchester, Winthrop and Woburn.

Recruits recieved classroom training as well as practice in non-fire and controlled fire conditions in situations ranging from mailbox fires to ladder operations to carbon monoxide detection.
