One Chelmsford resident had a successful weekend trip to Wilmington.
Joseph Koech of Chelmsford participated in the Run for Wilmington and Kim Forte Walk, a 5k road race that honored the life of a local woman who was killed in February 2011 by an allegedly impaired driver.
Koech blazed through the course and was the first runner to cross the finish line. He completed the road race in an impressive time of 16 minutes and 16 seconds, which was 36 seconds better than the second place finisher.
A total of about 500 runners and walkers competed in the event, which was sponsored by the Women of Wilmington.
