Cement Truck Pushes Car Over a Mile Down 128
A Chelmsford cement truck struck a sedan on Route 128 this afternoon and pushed the car for more than a mile down the highway. The woman driving the car was taken to a local hospital with injuries.
A Florida woman was hospitalized Friday afternoon after her car was hit by a cement truck owned by a Chelmsford company on Route 128 and pushed down the highway for more than a mile.
State police said the woman suffered injuries of an unknown severity and was transported to a local hospital.
The incident was initially reported at 2:09 p.m. State police said the Danvers barracks received numerous calls from other motorists that a cement truck was pushing a small vehicle sideways down the southbound side of Route 128 near Exit 28.

Troopers arrived at the scene to find the driver of the Kia Spectra, a 39-year-old woman from Zephyr Hills., Fla., suffering from injuries of unknown severity. State police said the woman also owns the car, which as Florida license plates.
The truck is a 1999 Volvo mixer owned by South Shore Gunite of Chelmsford, according to state police, and was being driven by a 48-year-old Nashua, N.H. man.

As of 3 p.m., state police gave no indication if any charges would be sought. They said preliminary investigation indicates the truck pushed the car for more than a mile after the initial impact.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by Troop A of the state police.
