Felt like someone was shaking my couch for about 5-6 seconds. Was a smooth rumbling, not violent. In West Chelmsford.

Shows the range of the earthquake. We were on the bleachers at Chelmsford High, and felt it quite clearly.

I was sitting at my desk browsing the web when the house starting shaking. At first thought a huge truck was going by but then realized that there was an earthquake.

I felt it . I had the same feeling of when I was in Naples Italy 1980 when an earthquake shook South of Italy. It was certainly shorter but the ground moved I lost balance and I knew it right the way.

I live near Mill Rd./Turnpike Rd. and my house "cracked", the easy chair in which I sat watching Chronicle moved a good inch (lasted just a few seconds) and my first thought was there must have been an explosion somewhere nearby (tho I heard no thunderous noise) until Channel 5 News interrupted to give the information. I admit to a momentary freight, not knowing what in the world happened ... never thought of a quake.

I was sitting in my easy chair, I jumped out of it I thought someone was behind it shaking it. I thought it was an earth quake. I was watching Fox News they reported that a quake had just happened.
