Billy Kamenides Wins FMC Ice Sports Scholarship
He will use the $1,000 in his education at Fairfield University.
Chelmsford High School grad Billy Kamenides has won a $1,000 scholarship from FMC Ice Sports, the company that manages the Chelmsford Forum.
Kamenides, who graduated in the class of 2012, is a standout CHS hockey player and an alum of Chelmsford Hockey Association. He also spent much of his high school career volunteering for the organization.
The scholarship has been given annually since 1993 to players who exhibit excellence on and off the ice. FMC has awarded more than $300,000 in education scholarships to 340 high school graduates.
Applicants for the scholarship had to describe their hockey or figure skating experience, school activities off the ice, and write an essay about skating’s influence and impact on the applicant's life and personal development. High school transcripts and SAT scores were also required.
Kamenides will study business at Fairfield University.
