Beleza Spa Offers Discounts, Raises Money for a Cause
Beleza Spa holds its second annual fundraiser for breast cancer.
hosts their second annual “Team LOL Breast Cancer Fundraiser Event” on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. offering discounted spa services to their customers with all proceeds going towards the Avon 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer. The Salon will be busy on Sunday with women of all ages sporting pink and enjoying a girl’s day at the spa.
Facials, massages, manicures and more will be discounted by 50 percent or more for the event, as the Beleza Spa staff donates their time to lend a hand to the cause.
“It’s nice to be able to do something good like this and be able to give back to our clients at the same time,” said manager Jamie Lasorsa.

Both Lasorsa and Beleza Spa owner Kathy MacDonald will be walking in this year’s Avon 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer. Their team of ten women each plans to raise $1800 and walk the 39 miles. Through different events and fundraisers, the team hopes to reach its total goal of $18,000.
“The staff donates their time for this event, and without them here we couldn’t do it. And our clients are so generous too,” said Lasorsa.

Vendors and sponsors will be selling items and raffle tickets at Beleza Spa during the event with a portion of the proceeds going towards the Team LOL fund as well. Mothers and daughters, sisters, and girlfriends will enjoy the Sunday morning event dedicated to the health and happiness of women.
“It’s a big social party here at the Salon,” said Lasorsa. “It’s fun, there’s lots of energy—just a celebration of women for such a great cause.”
“There is so much positive energy at this event and it’s great to donate to the cause,” said staff member Rebecca Lopez. “Last year everyone that was here was hyped-up.”
Many members of Team LOL and the Beleza Spa staff have been affected by breast cancer, having a family member, friend or client battling the disease that 1 in 8 women suffer from.
