5 Things to Do This Weekend

A look at what is going on in town this weekend.

It’s Friday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.

Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check our picks for the activities to hit and new bars/restaurants/shops to explore.

1. SCARECROW FESTIVAL

Where/When: 168 Robin Hill Road, Sunday at 1 p.m.

Why go: Free parking and admission are just one reason to go to this fun-filled Fall event. Join the Chelmsford Girl Scouts for a day of festivities including games, bike rides and perhaps most important, a Scarecrow display.

2. ENTER THE PUMPKIN PATCH HALLOWEEN CONTEST

Where/When: Home/Ends Oct. 31

Why go: Submit your kids picture and you could represent Chelmsford in the national contest. Another bonus? Patch will whisk the winner to New York or Los Angeles for a three day, two night trip for two that includes a meet and greet with Heidi Klum, plus a donation of $1,031 to a local charity of the winner's choice.

3. CATCH A FOOTBALL GAME

Where/when: 200 Richardson Rd, Saturday at 7 p.m.

Why go: Get in the spirit of the season at the Chelmsford High School Varsity Football game against Central Catholic. Go Lions!

4. CLEAN YOUR CABINETS

Where/when: Chelmsford Police Station, Saturday at 10 a.m.

Why go: Drop off items from your medicine cabinet and help the environment and the Chelmsford community. We bet your cabinets could use a good cleaning anyway.

5. BONE MARROW DONOR DRIVE HALLOWEEN PARTY

Where/when: 10 Independence Dr, Friday at 7 p.m.

Why go: Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation is hosting a recruitment drive for potential donors. Come to this Halloween party to find out more about donating.
