1. BELLES OF THE HALLOWEEN BALL

Where/WhenChelmsford Lodge of Elks Friday at 7 p.m.

Why go: Halloween fun while benefitting the Bella Tucker of Westford and the Chelmsford Open Space Stewardship. All proceeds go to these local organizations, and you’ll get to see your local community members dress to impress - or scare.

2. GO SALE-ING

Where/When: John Street and James Street, Saturday at 9 a.m.

Why go: Yard sale season is still going strong. See what gems can be found at this multi-family yard sale.

3. GENEALOGY DISCOVERY DAY

Where/When: Chelmsford Public Library, Saturday from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Why go: Uncover family secrets just in time to share over the holidays.

4. FIRST ANNUAL CHELMSFORD DOG ASSOCIATION HOWL'WEEN DOG AND COSTUME SHOW.

Where/When: Parlee's Farm, 135 Pine Hill Road, Saturday, 11 a.m.

Why go: Cute puppies in even cuter costumes? Try giving us a reason not to go.

5. RICK LARRIMORE PERFORMS ROD STEWART TRIBUTE

Where/When: Café Madrid Saturday at 8 p.m.

Why go: We aren’t completely sure if it will be the food or the tunes, but this dinner-and-entertainment combo is sure to heat up this chilly weekend.
