Join the First Annual Chelmsford July 4 Bicycle Parade

  • June 26, 2012

Bring your bicycle or other human-powered vehicle to Jean Avenue (off Parkhurst Road) in Chelmsford at 9 AM on Wednesday July 4th to participate in the July 4th festivities. Decorations and bells are encouraged.

To participate, you must be able to ride at an 8 mile per hour pace, up a moderate hill, for 2 miles without stopping. That means 8 years of age or older with a reliable bicycle or other human powered vehicle. Helmets are required.

The bicycle parade will pass in front of the Parade Grandstand after the Carson Road Race and before the main July 4th Parade. The parade will start at Jean Avenue, proceed down Parkhurst Road to North Road, and down North Road into Chelmsford Center. The July 4th bicycle parade ends at the lower lot of Town Offices, where motor vehicle parking is available. No parking will be available at Jean Avenue.

Come join in the fun!

I love this idea! A very old-fashioned country fair type thing to do. Now all we need is a pie-eating contest and we're good.
