Chelmsford’s Boy Scout Troop #75 is excited to announce its annual Christmas Tree Fundraiser, which kicks off on December 1, 10 AM – 4 PM  at the Chelmsford Elks (Rt. 110) 300 Littleton Rd.  Chelmsford, MA.  All funds raised will support this active, boy-led troop as it celebrates its 45th year helping local youth develop self-confidence, ethics, and the academic, citizenship, and leadership skills that will influence their lives. 

Since the start of this school year, Troop #75 has hosted a service project campout at Sunny Meadows Community Gardens in Chelmsford, and a hiking campout in Franconia Notch. In November, the boys have planned a hike to the Carter Notch AMC Hut, and a campout at Camp Split Rock in Ashburnham. The troop is presently working on 4 Eagle Projects.

During the last school year, the boys went on a variety of outings, including an overnight at a Trampoline gym, the local Klondike derby campout, a rock climbing gym campout, a hike to Zealand Falls AMC Hut, skiing on Mt. Cranmore, backpacking on Mt. Greylock, and hiking in the White Mountains.  Recent service projects have included tornado cleanup in Brimfield, Massachusetts, raking veteran's yards, collecting food for local food pantries, and rebuilding a latrine at the Wah Tut Ca Scout camp.   

The boys plan and run troop meetings every Tuesday night at 7 pm at the Chelmsford Lodge of Elks, the troop’s chartering organization.  Troop meeting activities have recently included an Iron Chef cook-off using dutch ovens, a bike rodeo, first aid relay races, a swim party, and a speaker on hiking the Appalachian trail end to end.     

Boy Scout Troop #75 is made up of 40 boys, evenly split between middle school and high school ages.  Boys age 11 to 17 can join a Boy Scout Troop at any time during the year.  Visitors are always welcome!The boys of Troop #75 hope the community will support their Annual Christmas Tree Fundraiser.  Hours are: December 1, 2, 8 & 9 10 AM – 4 PM  at the Chelmsford Elks (Rt. 110) 300 Littleton Rd.  Chelmsford, MA.
