The Crush took top prize in the NSA Ruckus hosted by Northeast NSA in Dracut this past weekend, earning a berth in theNSA World Series July 23 – 29, 2012 at Tyger River, Spartanburg, South Carolina.

The Crush bounced back from some defeats on Saturday to come back on Sunday, beating the Mass Xplosion, CentralMass Smackdown, North Shore Storm, and for the championship, defeated Mass Fusion 9 to 6 to take the top prize.

The wins were a total team effort with key pitching from Emily Hamilton, Amity Leary, and Rachel Madanjian along withtimely hitting from Amanda Urmann, 5 hits & 6 RBI’s; Kallan Roys & Emily Hamilton each with 6 hits; Rachel Madanjian,4 hits & 5 RBI; & Fran Pesentes with 4 hits & 4 RBI.
Complementing the offense was outstanding defensive efforts by Caroline Loftus, Nichole Bernard, and Nicole Belanger in the outfield, with Emily Schuh, Amanda Weydemann, Kallan Roys, and Fran Pesentes in the infield, and catchers Abby Hewett and Amanda Urmann teamed up to throw out runners at 2nd and at home.
