Chelmsford Cultural Council Grants Awards
The Chelmsford Cultural Council (CCC) awarded $7040 in grants to 19 artists and organizations. The grants will provide students with enrichment programs; seniors with creative workshops; and the general public with several cultural activities. The 19 recipients will provide a number of events and activities in Chelmsford and the surrounding area. Projects include the following: Applause Academy CCA Spring Production, Davis Bates Storyteller, Waking Up the Earth (Ruth Canonico), Concert with the Charles River Sinfonetta, Two Town Film Festival (CCA-Fred Farzyk), Mass High School Drama Festival, Scottish Country Dancing, For A Dream's Sake (Concord Women's Chorus), Stone Caving Sculpture Symposium (CAI), Hands on History (Denis Cormier), Piano Vocal Shows for Senior Citizens (Diane Dexter), Musical Programs (Denise Doucette), AACT Region Drama Festival, Greater Lowell Music Theatre (Jack Neary), Folk Music Concert (Cliff McGann), Chelmsford Community Band original compositions, Free Family Leaning Nights (Discovery Museums), 30th Anniversary Holiday Concert (Westford Chorus), and Songs of the Civil War (Yankee Notions). The Local Cultural Council Program is the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation, supporting thousands of community-based projects in the arts, sciences and humanities every year. The Chelmsford Cultural Council will seek applications again in the fall 2013.
